Odeng Bokkeum Recipe

So this is my lil bro fav side dish – odeng bokkeum (Korean stir fried fishcake) with sweet and spicy sauce. Odeng is a Korean fishcake also called as eomuk. It is one of popular ingredients mostly used for skewered with broth and soup. Like usual, I don’t use particular dose for each ingredients. But no need to worry as all you can do is just to pay attention to the redness level, sweet and spicy level you want. Preparation and cooking time only take about 20 minutes. Yep this is pretty quick as basically the odeng alone is a ready to cook ingredient.

Ingredients

  • 4 slices odeng (for 2 portions)
  • 1 onion (sliced thin)
  • 3 garlic (sliced thin)
  • 250 ml water
  • Chili powder
  • Salty soya sauce
  • Sugar
  • Sesame oil

Directions

  1. Heat up the sesame oil on frying pan over medium heat.
  2. Stir the onion and garlic until they are soft and smelling good.
  3. Add some water until boiling up.
  4. Stir the odeng together with chili powder, salty soya sauce, and sugar. You can also add more sesame oil so that it gives a stronger taste. Mix together evenly.
  5. Once the odeng is tender, serve it.
  6. Enjoy!!
